More Links

As mentioned in the previous post, I fell behind on posting interesting links. I’ve been collecting them, however, and storing them in my cheeks for the winter. No, it’s not winter yet, but here are some links to explore while you prepare for hibernation.

I hate the rampant abuse of quotation marks, and so do the people who run this site. Quotation marks do not indicate irony, and they certainly don’t belong in many places you see them. In my opinion (and 8 out of 10 grammarians agree), quotation marks should be used when you’re quoting someone, to set off titles or when you need to indicate you’re writing about a word as a word.

June Is Bustin’ Out All Over

Or at least in terms of web links it is. Question: if blog is short for web log, can I use blinks for a collection of web links? Would it catch on? Can I be the next Al Gore?

Amusing Comic & Growing Pains

Neil Gaiman mentioned this on his blog. As a fan of both Sandman and Peanuts, I wanted to share it.

The artist is Evan Shaner. He also did a Schultz version of The Watchmen. Gotta love Snoopy as Rorschach.

If you don’t read Sandman, you may not get the first panel. And if you don’t read Sandman, shame on you. Yes, it’s a comic book, but it was a comic book full of literary, historic, mythologic, cultural allusions.
