Poetry Month: Earliest Spring (Sarracino)

Earliest Spring

Only out of the corner of your eye
can you see the shy green
aura around the skeletal trees.

Spirit comes.

Then flesh.

The invisible

flowers.

– Carmine Sarracino, from The Idea of the Ordinary

Check out a selection of Sarracino’s poetry at his Elizabethtown College page.
